Prominent Islamic scholar
Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir has offered a striking reflection on his life, saying
his success and blessings have not come from political connections, but from
farming and hard work.
In a statement delivered
in Hausa, the cleric said: “I do not have Tinubu’s cap on my head, nor Tinubu’s
money in my pocket. I am not Obasanjo’s man, and I am not Yar’Adua’s man. But
Allah has blessed me through farming,” he said.
Sheikh Jingir said he
still goes into the bush to farm, sometimes accompanied by his children, adding
that many of them have also learned the value of agriculture.
The cleric's message
presents farming not simply as a means of survival, but as a source of dignity,
independence and prosperity.
His remarks also carry a
wider message at a time when Nigerians are increasingly looking for sustainable
ways to earn a living beyond dependence on political connections.
His philosophy appears
simple: You may not have political power behind you, but with hard work, faith
and determination, you can still build a meaningful life.
