The academic community in Kaduna State University (KASU) is facing a fresh challenge as more than 200 lecturers have reportedly left the institution, raising concerns over the future of teaching and learning at the university.
The development was disclosed by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), KASU chapter, which expressed concern over the growing departure of academic staff.
According to the union, the exodus of lecturers is creating serious pressure on the institution, with fears that it could affect the quality of education and place additional burdens on the lecturers who remain.
The ASUU leadership, according to THE NATIONAL LENS, reportedly made the disclosure in Kaduna while addressing journalists on the situation at the university.
The development could further deepen tensions between the university community and the authorities, particularly as the issue of staff welfare, remuneration and working conditions remains a major concern across Nigeria's university system.
For students and parents, the big question now is whether the authorities will move quickly enough to stop the continued loss of experienced academics.
A university cannot build a strong future if it continues to lose the people responsible for educating that future.
