Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has made a fresh and controversial assessment of the state’s political landscape, claiming that Ibrahim Shekarau, Abdullahi Ganduje and incumbent Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf have become politically irrelevant in Kano.
TNL gathered that Kwankwaso made the statement while discussing the changing political fortunes of former allies and key figures in Kano politics.
The remark comes as political realignments continue to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Kano expected to remain one of Nigeria’s major political battlegrounds.
Do you agree with Kwankwaso’s assessment?
