Pressure On ADC In Kaduna Has Attracted Over 2,000 Groups Into Party — Atiku Pulse Youth Director

The Director of Youth Affairs of Atiku Pulse, Hon. Lawali Isah Gusau, has said that the intimidation and pressure being mounted on members of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has made the party more popular, with over 2,000 groups decamping from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the ADC across the state.
Hon. Lawali Isah, who is based in Kaduna, disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Gusau, Zamfara State.
According to him, the ruling APC in Kaduna State has resorted to intimidating opposition parties, especially candidates of the ADC, a development he described as unhealthy for democracy and capable of backfiring on the APC.
He called on chieftains of the APC to learn from what happened in Zamfara State during the 2023 general elections.
"The APC in Kaduna under Governor Uba Sani should be cautious about intimidating opposition parties, otherwise they will be shocked. The lesson is there in Zamfara," he said.
Lawali Isah recalled that before the 2023 elections, the PDP in Zamfara was sabotaged and intimidated from all sides, similar to what is now being done to the ADC in Kaduna, but despite the PDP not having government at the top and bottom, the person who did not even have a campaign poster won the governorship election, including State and National Assembly seats by the power of God.
The Youth Director also reflected on the state of the North under the current administration, citing the London meeting between Hajiya Naja'atu Muhammad and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was contesting in 2023, where he allegedly told her that he had no plan for the North, except that if he wins the election he would see what he would do for the region.
He said that was why Hajiya Naja'atu withdrew her support for Tinubu and clearly stated her reasons, but despite that, some Northerners still voted for the APC and Tinubu in the presidential election, and now everyone can see the outcome.
On that basis, Hon. Lawali called on the people of the North to be wise ahead of the 2027 general elections and not to allow their sentiments or be deceived by some presidential hangers-on who are working for their selfish interests to vote for the APC at any level.
He further assured that if Nigerians vote for the ADC, under which former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is contesting for president alongside other candidates of the party, the problem of terrorism and insecurity bedeviling the country will come to an end by the grace of God.
