Maulud Committee Lauds Khalil Over Community Development Strides

The 2025/2026 Maulud procession committee of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in Funtua Zone, under the leadership of the Zawiyya of Sheikh Abubakar Alti Funtua, has commended the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial Aspirant for Katsina South (Funtua Zone), Engr. Nura Khalil, for his outstanding community development activities and enduring legacies during his tenure at the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF).

The Chairman of the Maulud Procession Committee, Alhaji Bashir Muhammad Kin, gave the commendation on Saturday, 10th October, 2027, during the annual Sha'ire Maulud procession held at Funtua Model Primary School.

Alhaji Bashir Kin expressed profound gratitude to Engr. Nura Khalil for honouring the invitation and for his immense contributions, both morally and financially, towards ensuring a successful, orderly and peaceful Maulud celebration in Funtua.

He noted that service to the Maulud of the Holy Prophet is not new to Engr. Nura Khalil, describing him as a lover of the Prophet (SAW) whose family, led by his wife, organizes annual Maulud celebration in his residence.

"On behalf of the Zawiyya and the entire Maulud Committee, we pray Almighty Allah to fulfill Engr. Nura Khalil's noble intentions and grant him success in his aspiration to become the Senator representing Katsina South Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections," Bashir Kin said.

In his response, Engr. Nura Khalil, who is a frontline PDP senatorial aspirant for the Funtua Zone, commended the Zawiyya of Sheikh Abubakar Alti Funtua for sustaining the annual Maulud procession for Islamiyya Schools and the Sha'ire groups, describing it as a vital tool for moral rebirth and unity among Muslim faithful.

He also lauded the organizing committee for conducting the procession in a peaceful, orderly and lawful manner, devoid of any rancor.

The Senatorial hopeful reassured the people of Funtua Zone that if given the mandate by Almighty Allah and the electorates in 2027, he would prioritize security, infrastructural development, youth empowerment and quality representation for the people of Katsina South.

Engr. Khalil, a renowned engineer and technocrat, was a key figure at the PTF where he was credited with executing numerous developmental projects, including schools, hospitals, roads and water schemes that still dot the landscape of Katsina South and beyond.
