Governor Inuwa Leads Gombe Delegation to Funeral Prayer for Mai Kaltungo’s Wife

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has led a delegation of the Gombe State Government to the funeral prayer of the late Queen Hajiya Amina Saleh Mohammed, wife of the Mai Kaltungo, His Royal Highness Engr. Saleh Muhammad Umar, OON, who is also the Deputy Chairman of Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs.

Hajiya Amina passed away on Wednesday after a brief illness.

The funeral prayer, held at the Kaltungo Central Mosque, was attended by traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, family members and hundreds of sympathisers.

Shortly after the Janazah prayer, Governor Inuwa Yahaya led members of the delegation to the palace of the Mai Kaltungo, where he conveyed the condolences of the government and people of Gombe State to the royal family and the Kaltungo Traditional Council.

The Governor described the death of Queen Amina as a profound loss, not only to the Mai Kaltungo and the royal family, but the entire state.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya said the deceased was a devoted wife, mother and pillar of support to the Mai Kaltungo, particularly in the discharge of his traditional responsibilities and service to the people.

He said testimonies about her life had described her motherly disposition, humility and remarkable contributions to the wellbeing of the royal household and the community as a whole.

The Governor urged the Mai Kaltungo and the bereaved family to draw strength from the knowledge that death is an inevitable part of human existence, stressing that the appropriate response to such a loss was to accept Allah’s will and continue to pray for the departed.

He said, “Our belief that every human being is mortal should serve as a source of spiritual consolation at this difficult moment. Life is temporary, and we must accept what Allah has ordained with faith and steadfastness.

“ Of course losing a spouse after decades of companionship is undoubtedly heartbreaking. But as believers, we must take solace in the will of Almighty Allah and pray for the deceased to receive His mercy and eternal rest in Jannatul Firdausi.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Your Royal Highness, the royal family and the people of Kaltungo. May Almighty Allah forgive her shortcomings,  grant her Al-Jannatul Firdaus grant and give the family fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

Governor Inuwa Yahaya was accompanied by his Deputy, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau; the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Mohammed Dantata Ndus; Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi; Commissioners, Hon. Jerry Joseph Damara, Special Advisers and other senior government officials.
