2027: Bali LGA Will Surprise Gov Kefas With Massive Votes - Council Chairman

By Sule Wakili

The Executive Chairman of Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State, Hon. Habila Balasa, says the people of Bali are set to massively reward Governor Agbu Kefas with their votes in 2027 over his transformative projects.

Balasa stated this while reacting to the recent Binnari attack in Karim-Lamido LGA and Governor Kefas' decision to expand security coverage in the area.

Speaking with journalists in Jalingo on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the Bali Council boss said he received news of the Binnari killings with shock while in Kaduna for the flag-off of the presidential campaign council.

He condoled with the Chairperson of Karim-Lamido LGA, Hon. Virginia Baba Bambur, the Taraba State Government and families of victims, stressing that "every life counts in Taraba and Nigeria at large."

While commending the governor's swift security response, Balasa said the expansion of security operations in Karim-Lamido was informed by intelligence and will help restore peace.

"His Excellency is a military man. He has an in-depth knowledge about security. The Security Adviser is also an expert, he knows his onions. It is based on intelligence report and we received it in good faith, hoping that our people will sleep with their two eyes closed," he said.

Balasa used the opportunity to caution the opposition against politicizing insecurity, saying such tragedies could happen under any administration and what is needed now is collective support, not sabotage.

"Security is different from politics. We should put politics aside and rally around the current government to succeed, irrespective of political inclination," he said.

On 2027, Balasa said Kefas has performed creditably in security, education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure and general well-being of the people, making him deserving of a second term.
"Bali is a second home to Governor Kefas. We are going to surprise him with our votes in 2027. We are going to vote for him massively," he declared.

He called on traditional leaders, colleagues and stakeholders to remain security-conscious and prayerful.
