ZAMFARA SABER SECRETARIAT HOLDS TECHNICAL SESSION ON MTEF 2027/2029

The Zamfara State Action on Business Enabling Reforms, SABER has organized a two day technical session to update and finalize the state Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) 2027-2029.

The session, held at hotel saventeen kaduna, brought together directors and other officials from relevant ministries departments and agencies of the state.

Declaring the session open, the permanent secretary and solicitor general state ministry of justice Barrister Musa Garba Bukkuyum, who also chaired the session, commended Governor Dauda lawal and SABER SECRETARIAT for organizing the technical session.

Our correspondent reports that Barrister Musa Garba Bukkuyum, charged the participants to remain committed and come up with effective modalities for updating and finalizing the state's MTEF.

He stressed the need for collective efforts to ensure that the expanditure framework reflects the priorities and development needs of the state.

Presenting the objectives of the technical session, the Director of  Economic planning, Malam Aminu Yakubu explained the importance of the MTEF in strengthening medium term fiscal and budget planning.

Also  the Director of planning Research and statistics, state ministry for local Government and cheiftency affairs murtala Yusuf, presented a paper on key considerations for the 2027 2029 MTEF and the preparation of the 2027 budget.

In  another presentation, the Zamfara e NG CARES Coordinator Alhaji Mukhtar Ibrahim Rowan Doruwa led the participants in the projections and updating of the 2027. 2029 Medium term expenditure framework.

Contributing the Director main account Aliyu Ibrahim Zurmi, called for the constitution of a technical committee comprising representative of the state ministry of finance, state ministry of budget and planning, the office of the state statician General and Debt management office.

He said the committee would enhance cooperation and ensure effective harmonization of data and projection required for the MTEF.

The meeting was attended by officials including the Director of the Debt management office, Directors from Zamfara state ministry of budget and planning, state SOCU coordinator Alhaji Abdulrarazak Usuman Moriki, SABER Accountant Alhaji Ibrahim Ladan Nahuche, SABER SECRETARIAT and other relevant stakeholders.
