The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III, has called on Nigerians to pray for leaders at all levels in tackling insecurity and other socio-economic challenges facing the country.
The Sultan made the call in Gusau on Friday while commissioning a Jumu'at Mosque reconstructed by Governor Dauda Lawal.
He commended Governor Lawal for his huge investment in religious institutions and urged him to sustain the tempo.
Also speaking, the leader of the Izalatul Bidia, Jos branch, Sheikh Yahaya Jingir said leaders of Zamfara State have been wonderful right from the first civilian Governor, as Sharia and Islamic institutions were given priority and adequate development.
Jingir described the reconstruction of five major Jumu'at Mosques in Gusau as a huge investment in the institutions of Islam.
In his remarks, Governor Dauda Lawal appreciated Islamic scholars who graced the occasion and appealed to the Mosque Committee to ensure effective maintenance of the facility.
The four other mosques currently undergoing reconstruction and nearing completion are Rabi'a Mosque, Tudun Wada Mosque, Zawiyya Mosque and Gusau Central Jumu'at Mosque.
