DSP Barau Sacks Another Aide, Mai Sa'a Over Alleged Anti-APC Activities

By Al-Amin Ciroma

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has terminated the appointment of one of his aides, Rashida Adamu, popularly known as Rashida Mai Sa’a, over allegations of involvement in activities considered hostile to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development was announced by the Deputy Senate President’s media and public relations aide, Shitu Madaki Kunchi, in a statement issued on Monday, September 28, 2026.

According to the statement obtained by THE NATIONAL LENS, Rashida was removed from her position following allegations that she made statements capable of inciting supporters, participated in activities allegedly aimed at undermining the APC and made disparaging remarks against Senator Barau.

The decision comes only days after another aide to the Deputy Senate President, Umar Alhassan, popularly known as King Indara, was also relieved of his appointment.

Alhassan’s removal followed a controversial social media post directed at Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The latest development is linked to concerns earlier raised by Barau’s office over the activities of some individuals who, despite having benefited from appointments and other support, were allegedly working against his political interests in Kano State and within the APC.

The office had accused such individuals of attempting to undermine the Deputy Senate President and weaken the party’s political structure in the state.

Rashida’s sack therefore adds to a series of recent disciplinary actions involving political aides attached to the Deputy Senate President, amid heightened political activities in Kano and within the APC.
